I like this semester's independent reading unit. I think it was good to be able to read my own book at what ever pace I wanted. The one thing that I did like about the reading unity last semester was the fact that there were other people reading the same book as me. I think my reading skills are better because of the fact that I got to read at my own pace. Also I think that the blogging will be very beneficial for my future in college because often times you are required to blog and comment on others' posts. So, overall I enjoyed this semesters reading more that last.

Deal Breaker Post#7
Myron Bolitar's father's recent heart attack brings Myron smack into a midlife encounter with issues of adulthood and mortality. And if that's not enough to turn his life upside down, the reappearance of his first serious girlfriend is. The basketball star turned sports agent, who does a little detecting when business is slow, is saddened by the news that Emily Downing's 13-year-old son is dying and desperately needs a bone marrow transplant; even if she did leave him for the man who destroyed his basketball career, he wouldn't wish tsuris like that on anyone.
Valerie Simpson is a young female tennis star with a troubled past who's now on the verge of a comeback and wants Myron as her agent. Myron, who's also got the hottest young male tennis star, Duane Richwood, primed to take his first grand slam tournament, couldn't be happier. That is, until Valerie is murdered in broad daylight at the U.S. Open and Myron's number one client becomes the number one suspect.
In a quiet suburban neighborhood, in a house only one door away, a family is brutally murdered for no apparent reason. And you think to yourself: It could have been us. And you start to wonder: What if we’re next?
Harry Bosch's life is on the edge. His earthquake-damaged home has been condemned. His girlfriend has left him. He's drinking too much. And after attacking his commanding officer, he's even had to turn in his L.A.P.D. detective's badge. Now, suspended indefinitely pending a psychiatric evaluation, he's spending his time investigating an unsolved crime from 1961: the brutal slaying of a prostitute who happened to be his own mother.
Investigator Wayne Weston is found dead of an apparent suicide in his upscale Cleveland suburban home. His wife and six-year-old daughter are now missing. The police think the former Marine murdered them. Hoping to exonerate his son, Weston’s father hires PIs Lincoln Perry and Joe Pritchard.

Deal Breaker: Post #5
www.google.com
This website pertains to my book because all the time in the book they have to find out information about various things and Google is the site for all questions.
www.findthemissing.org
This site would go along with my book because it is based around finding a missing person who had run away and this site is where you go to find people that are missing.
www.mapquest.com
In the book the main character Myron is always going somewhere new, and this site gives directions which I think would be beneficial for the main character to find his way around.
www.peoplefinder.com
This site correlates to the book because the main characters are always finding information on strangers they come in contact with.
www.yellowpages.com
This site is where you go to find people phone numbers. In the book, Myron is always calling people that he doesn't know to find out information.
www.magazines.com
In Deal Breaker, the missing character was in a magazine, and this website gives information about how to find magazines which would also be helpful to the main characters.
www.fbi.gov
In the book there was a character that helped to find some information about people through his connections in the FBI, so he likely used this website.
www.southwest.com
During the book there was a character that had to fly somewhere, so this website could have been used to buy his plane ticket.
www.radioshack.com
In the book a character had puchased a lot of technology, which could have came from Radio Shack online.
www.nfl.com
The main character Myron was a sports agent that represented an NFL player.

1st Response:
That is really good that you like to read. I agree with you when you said that you are not interested in books that people our age read because I'm not either. Also doing what the main character in the book does seems pretty interesting. But why is he called a wallflower?
2nd Response:
I agree with you when you said that you must have an interesting book to read. I feel the same way, because if you are reading a book that you are not interested in, then you won't want to read it. Also suspense books are really good to read. They keep you wanting to read more, as you said before, and they are constantly keep you wondering what is going to happen next.
3rd Response:
I really hate to read boring books like you do. If they aren't interesting, I am not going to read it. But this book looks pretty good, I see a lot of people reading it. I saw the movie, but I would hate to read the book after wards. So, how is the movie compared to the book? 4th Response: I saw Hunger Games, and I also thought it was pretty good. There was a lot of action that took place in the movie that kept me interested. I haven't read the book, but I hear it's good as well. 5th Response: I have read the book you are reading before, and I think you did a good job finding pictures that go with Swim the Fly. 6th Response: I agree with you about only wanting to read sometimes. I am the same way, I will only read unless I have to or if i find a book that I really like

Deal Breaker: Harlan Coben Post#3
I think that this musical selection fits the book Deal Breaker because of the mood of the song. In the book there are many ups and downs. The characters often go from being happy to being sad or from feeling anxious to being depressed. So, because of that I think this song choice fits perfectly with the book. One example would be when the main character Myron found out that his old friend might still be alive, but before this he was very happy and exuberant.

Deal Breaker: Harlan Coben Post#2
This first picture goes with the book Deal Breaker because all throughout the novel talks about the main character being a sports agent and he represents a football player.
This picture is relevant to the book because it shows a computer, which is used a lot to find research about characters in the novel.
One section in the novel involved an important conversation that took place at a bar, which is why this picture relates to the book. The picture shows alcoholic beverages that would be served at the bar.
The picture above shows big buildings, which is relevant to the book because the main character works in a building described to look similar to this one.
This picture has a connection to the book because many of the words shown above were used in the book to find out important clues.
In book, the setting is said to be a big city which is why I chose this picture to show what the book described.
The plot of the story is very important so it must be thought out strategically, just like the game shown above.
The main character in the book was a basketball player before he became a sports agent. He broke his knee during a game ending his basketball career.
All of the characters in the story, obviously, live in the United States.
The plot of the story is based on a picture, which is the result coming from the camera shown above.

Deal Breaker By:Harlan Coben Post#1
My name is Julian and I enjoy reading books, sometimes. When I find a book that is interesting, I will read. But, if the book is boring I will not read it. I don't have a particular genre that I stick to, I like to read many different types of books. Some of the genres I read are science fiction, mystery, horror, and auto biographical novels. The book I am currently reading is Deal Breaker by Harlan Coben. It is a mystery book that deals with two guys who find a girl in an adult magazine who was said to have disappeared years ago. I like this book because it keeps me interested for what is going to happen next. I also like the fact that it is not a predictable book, like many others.
